Vermont High School Girls Basketball

The decline in newspaper income has meant that fewer papers are publishing post season honors or covering girls basketball with any regularity or depth. That means that I am unable to find a lot of available information about the girls on my lists. In addition to that, my free time has become limited and I can't devote what little time I have available to tracking down coaches. Therefore, I am unable to continue maintaining my girls high school pages.

The best of luck to all of the girls throughout New England who work so hard. Kudos to the coaches and parents who support them and help them achieve their dreams.

~ HuskyNan (Nancy)

P.S. Girls, don't forget there's more to life than basketball. Remember to have fun and maintain balance. Live life fully; be happy.

Criteria for being listed

Below is a list of high school girls from Vermont who have distinguished themselves as varsity players for their high school and/or AAU teams. If you know of a girl who should be on the list, feel free to contact me. However, I ask you read the criteria for being listed on my site. My e-mail address can be found on that page.

I've decided to set up a new page for New England Preps Schools Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) girls. You can find it here. This page is a bit of a departure for me, since it will include girls who aren't necessarily "local" girls. I just feel that the preps girls don't get enough coverage and that college coaches who go to see an out of state girl may just spot a New Englander they like while they're at a game. At least I hope so.

Please be aware that I will verify the info to the best of my ability. Also, I do not consider the standard questionnaires sent out by colleges in a player's freshman and sophomore years as "being recruited". Being recruited means that the college has been in touch with the younger players' coach(es) or, if a junior or senior, has personally contacted the player herself.

Please feel free to e-mail me, HuskyNan (Nancy) with questions or comments.

Key:
VBCA = Vermont Basketball Coaches Association
BFP = Burlington Free Press

Please note: I periodically have problems with my Yahoo e-mail. Sometimes my e-mails go into the Trash folder so people may have tried to communicate with me but I never got the message. The Yahoo mail is working sporadically however if you don't get a response within a couple of days, try again. I apologize for any inconvenience.
