New England High School Girls BBall
I've decided to set up a new page for New England Preps Schools Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) girls. You can find it here. This page is a bit of a departure for me, since it will include girls who aren't necessarily "local" girls. I just feel that the preps girls don't get enough coverage and that college coaches who go to see an out of state girl may just spot a New Englander they like while they're at a game. At least I hope so. Please be aware that I will verify the info to the best of my ability. Also, I do not consider the standard questionnaires sent out by colleges in a player's freshman and sophomore years as "being recruited". Being recruited means that the college has been in touch with the younger players' coach(es) or, if a junior or senior, has personally contacted the player herself.   | Why is this site here? As a college and girls high school basketball fan, I became frustrated with the lack of available information on local high school players. I was also amazed to learn that only a handful of New England girls are getting national recognition. Obviously, the word needs to get out about our local girls. This is not a recruiting site The purpose of this site is NOT to help girls get recruited, although I am aware that listing the girls may bring them higher visibility. Please read the criteria for being listed; I cannot add all girls who make All-Conference or All-Tourney teams - I simply don't have the space or the time. I am aware that some awards are political and that not all deserving girls are given post-season awards. I simply wish to recognize the girls who've played at a high level over a long period of time and those who've earned college scholarships. Who am I? I am a UConn fan who has a few UConn recruiting sites. I do not operate a "recruiting service". I can't contact schools to help a girl's recruiting. High school and AAU coaches are the best sources for recruiting info. I do have a page that might be helpful here. 2008 Gatorade POYs CT - Heather Buck ME - Rachael Mack MA - Felicia Barron NH - Tiffany Ruffin RI - Brittany Wilson VT - Alyssa Herrington 2008 Miss Basketball/POY CT - Heather Buck ME - Rachael Mack MA - Not named NH - Shannon Hassan RI - Not named VT - Alyssa Herrington |
